Senators vs Penguins Game 7 live

The Pittsburgh Penguins were playing some of their best hockey of the playoffs, and it appeared the Senators’ unexpected run was coming to an end. After being pulled twice in Game 5, Craig Anderson returned with one of the best games of his NHL career. Anderson stopped 45 of 46 shots to lead Ottawa to a 2-1 win.

The Senators need Anderson to again steal the game for them. All three of Ottawa’s wins have come when they have held Pittsburgh to one goal. Defensively, the Senators will continue to play their defensive system and try to keep Pittsburgh from getting odd-man rushes.

Expect Pittsburgh head coach Mike Sullivan to increase the minutes of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Crosby is averaging slightly under 20 minutes per game, while Malkin is playing 17:18 per game. Pittsburgh needs to drive play towards to the Ottawa net and not settle for outside shots.

Jake Guentzel and Mark Stone have both been disappointing for their teams in the conference finals. In the regular season, Guentzel had 33 points in 40 games for the Penguins. However, against Ottawa, Guentzel has two assists. Stone had 22 goals and 54 points in 71 games for Ottawa but only has one assist in the first six games against Pittsburgh.
